Holman Kaufman Krahling, PLLC was founded by Marc S. Kaufman, Howard H. Holman and S. Scott Krahling to provide a coordinated approach to income tax, retirement, business and estate planning for business owners, key executives, and other individuals and families. Our goal is to develop a long-term trusted advisor relationship with our clients by understanding their unique circumstances and goals in order to help them achieve both their short-term and long-term planning objectives. Our objective is to accomplish this by providing proactive, knowledgeable advice, which helps the client evaluate the options available to them and provide guidance in determining the most effective course of action for both the immediate planning issue as well as the overall long-term plan.

Howard H. Holman, CPA, MBA, has advised closely held businesses, their owners and key executives for over thirty years. His focus is on the accumulation of wealth through efficient management of productive and financial resources and the growth and retention of that wealth through long-term planning, including strategic tax planning strategies. He serves clients in various industries, including manufacturing, technology, professional services, construction and real estate.
Marc S. Kaufman is a certified public accountant in the state of Washington with over 20 years experience in the accounting and legal industry. He is skilled in working with family groups in the design and implementation of wealth accumulation, wealth preservation, and wealth transfer planning strategies. His tax practice is focused on estate planning, real estate and high net worth individuals.
S. Scott Krahling is a certified public accountant in the state of Washington with over 18 years experience in the accounting industry. He is skilled in assisting closely held businesses, investment planning including diversifying high concentrations of stock. His practice is focused on closely held businesses, investment planning and high net worth individuals.
Our Accountants
Edward A. Alkireis a certified public accountant in the state of Washington. He started his CPA career at Touche Ross (now known as Deloitte Touche) in 1977. He left Touche Ross in 1989 to join SI Technologies where he was the Chief Operating and Financial Officer. SI Technologies was a publicly held company (SISI) headquartered in Tustin, California. He served on the board of directors until the company was sold in 2005. Since 1994 he has been providing business and tax consulting services to emerging and closely held businesses, as well as individuals for Holman Kaufman Krahling, PLLC.
Patricia L. LaCombe is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Washington. With over 30 years direct experience serving clients, Patty provides accounting, income and business tax services, as well as solid advisory services, to individuals and business clients in a broad range of industries, including construction, retail, professional and health services. Her strong and varied experience provides a pragmatic foundation to helping clients in regard to organization of accounting and office systems. She provides direct assistance to Holman Kaufman Krahling clients with their internal accounting systems, including QuickBooks, Peachtree and similar.
Jason B. Rydberg is a certified public accountant with a Masters of Science in Taxation. After spending four years with the largest regional CPA firm in Chicago he joined Ernst & Young working out of the Seattle office where he spent the next 8 years. Jason joined Holman Kaufman Krahling in December 2005. He has worked extensively with high net worth individuals and their middle market companies with regards to compliance, planning and investments.
He has a diverse background having been on both the compliance and the consulting side of the business, actively managing IRS audits, and involved with bank closings for the Resolution Trust Corporation (RTC). He has spent significant time serving Investment Advisory Services (IAS) clients and has provided one-on-one counseling to employees of several Fortune 500 companies. Additionally, he focuses on stock option and retirement planning for individuals.
He is a licensed CPA in Washington and a Registered Investment Advisor (Series 65) in Washington and California.
Jason received an undergraduate degree in Accountancy from Northern Illinois University and a Master’s Degree in Taxation from DePaul University.
